Application of hardware springs in safety valves

Hardware Spring safety valve is mainly composed of valve core, valve seat, valve stem, spring, adjusting screw, etc. This kind of safety valve mainly uses the elastic force of hardware spring to press the valve core on the valve seat. When the boiler pressure exceeds the pressure of the spring acting on the upper part of the valve core, the valve core and valve stem are lifted up, and the steam is discharged; when the boiler pressure is lower than the pressure of the spring acting on the upper part of the valve core, the valve core lowers and presses on the valve seat. The boiler exhausts steam intermittently.

The contact surface between the valve core and the valve seat is a tapered surface, with a few protruding edges around the valve core. When the steam pushes up the valve core, the edge of the valve core is also affected by the steam pressure, causing the entire action area to suddenly increase, and the safety valve opens immediately; when the lowering force decreases, the steam force suddenly decreases, causing the valve core to close once. Avoid repeated beating of the valve core. The main parameters of the wave spring safety valve are the opening pressure and steam exhaust capacity, and the steam exhaust capacity depends on the diameter of the valve seat and the advancement height of the valve core. Due to the difference in advance height, it can be divided into three types: slight lift, medium lift and full lift safety valves.

The hardware spring type safety valve has a compact structure, small size, and simplicity; it has good tightness, is easy to adjust, can withstand vibration, and rarely leaks. Therefore, it is flexible and reliable. It has the widest range of applications and is the most commonly used one.
